Overview
This esteemed Tom Weiskopf design pays homage to Open Championship-style golf in the middle of the Scottsdale desert. Set in the shadows of Pinnacle Peak, Troon North weaves through giant granite boulders that often impact shot options. The track is a tough, yet aesthetically pleasing experience for any golfer.

“This used to be the standard for high end desert golf. Sadly, the housing developments have encroached significantly on the course, most notably on the front nine of the Monument course. The shot values are still there, as is the penalizing nature of desert golf. The site lines are significantly impacted by the housing though. Make no mistake, this is still desert golf, and very challenging for all but the straightest hitters."

“One of my favorite courses in the desert. For a public course, you don't get much better. The conditions were incredible with plush overseed everywhere. The greens were fast and firm. The mix of tough and fun holes make this a course not to miss."

“Enjoyable course that is pretty straightfoward as long as you keep it out of the desert. The size of landing areas are generous, so keeping in the grass is very doable. Very nice greens which are enormous. A lot of great scenery too."

“One of the original high end public courses in the Phoenix area. A very good test of golf and a good place to have fun. Generous driving areas with emphasis on your second shot to the green. It has always been in very good condition and I have always enjoyed playing here."

“It might be a bit gimmicky, but I love the "monument" rock on the 3rd hole. And I like the way the back nine meanders up the hill on the other side of the road. The round is a great journey and has a unique character. Sometimes they over-water and it gets a little wet. But usually the conditioning is great. Fun place."

“This is one of the first desert courses built around the time of Desert Highlands and Troon CC. When I first played it there were no homes around the course. Now they are everywhere. It is a distraction but does not diminish the value of the course. It is quite good. Whenever I go back to desert I still play it."

“Great introduction to desert golf. Fantastic views, wide open fairways. When they redid both courses several years ago and took the best 9 from each to make Monument. It became one of the best courses in scottsdale."

“If you like desert golf, this is a great course to play. Monument is a challenging desert course in excellent condition. Strategic shots required but still has ample ways of high handicappers to play the course. Great practice facility and putting green. Excellent restaurant overlooking the golf course along with outside dining. Alitte pricey but again, you can find deals if you look at last minute booking. Definite worth playing."
