WHAT IT DOES: Watching Scotty Cameron work with multiple materials in mallets is like watching a strikeout artist work his way through a lineup with six different breaking balls. This line of 10 mallets mixes milled 303 stainless steel and aircraft-grade aluminum in arrangements that run from moderate-stability options like the X5 to maximum-stability options like the X12. Aside from the aluminum-faced X12, most have stainless-steel faces, and aluminum in the sole and steel weights in the toe and heel provide even more stability. Built on the parallel open winged mallet frame of the X5, this compact mallet mixes a 303 stainless steel body and centered 6061 aluminum sole plate for high stability. Nearly face-balanced, the zero-offset shaft is nearly centered and encourages a straight back straight through stroke.

The parallel wings on this mallet are straighter than on the X 5 mallets for even more stability. The multi-material head mixes a 303 stainless steel body and centered 6061 aluminum sole plate for high stability. This update to this larger, high stability mallet includes a thinned out mid-section of 6061 aluminum in the body, face and sole. That's surrounded by heavier milled 303 stainless steel on the heel and toe perimeter. It uses a full length white aiming line on the black body section and is built with a mid-bend shaft for a near face-balanced setup that is best for straighter strokes.

"The raised alignment aide on the 9 allows for consistently perfect alignment. Putter felt like a natural extension of my arms. The ball grabbed the ground and stayed on line right off the face. No differentiation in feel on short, medium or long putts. A model of consistency."
