Investment group led by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy adds Dream Team roster of investors
You remember the Dream Team right? The 1992 Olympics, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen and David Robinson. It’s widely regarded as the single greatest team ever assembled … until now. On Wednesday, Tiger Woods’ and Rory McIlroy’s strategic investment firm TMRW Sports announced its roster of backers, and it’s crazier than an ESPYs after-party. Check it out:
Serena Williams, Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum, Chris Paul, Lewis Hamilton, Alex Morgan, Andy Murray, Ninja, Shohei Ohtani, Trea Turner, Josh Allen, Larry Fitzgerald, Tony Romo, Sidney Crosby, and Justin Timberlake.
We’re going to go out on a limb and guess you’ve heard of a few of these folks. Woods and McIlroy are no-brainers. They’ve recently flexed their entrepreneurial muscle with the TGL, a tech-infused, team-based stadium golf series funded in conjunction with TMRW Sports. Now they’re beefing up their list of backers in order to grow new, like-minded ventures.
“I value the support of this unrivaled team of investors, advisors and ambassadors who believe in our vision to harness technology to create progressive approaches to sports,” says Mike McCarley of TMRW Sports’ A-list lineup. “Their combined broad reach and cultural relevance will expand potential opportunities and fanbases for TMRW projects. Plus, many share a passion for golf that only adds more fuel to TGL, our first project in partnership with the PGA Tour.”
Speaking of that so-called “passion for golf,” LAFC star (and noted golf maniac) Gareth Bale has also joined the roster. What? Did you think he was going to miss this party?
