Marriott's Shadow Ridge Golf Club
Palm Desert, CA • Public
Overview
Six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo had a hand in designing Marriott’s Shadow Ridge and has said of the course: “The fairways are typically generous, but our bunkering style is impressively bold.” The deep bunkers play a central role at Shadow Ridge as they not only line many fairways, but they’re often placed in the middle of the landing areas, forcing players to pick a side. This challenging resort course finishes with a strong par 4 bisected by a creek, requiring quality shots to avoid trouble.

“Heavily sculpted terrain made to look like it's somewhere other than in the middle of Palm Desert. More challenging than the average desert resort course. Plays fast and firm."

“A very difficult course to play from the tips. It was in great shape with a lot of variety. The greens have a lot of counter. If you play it from the proper tees you will really enjoy it. i was pleasantry surprised"

“Well designed and challenging desert resort course. Great variety of short and long holes built amongst rolling desert landscape. On date played course was in excellent condition and consistently so from tee to green. While expansive and somewhat forgiving, fairways were firm and fast. Most were bordered by deep well designed bunkers and played into interesting green complexes. Greens were firm and fast as well. Course was fun to play given the diversity of holes, shot options and creativity."
