PNC translates into FUN for the 40 participants each year at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. The regulars to this two-day, two-player team event know it’s all about enjoying time with family—and trying to grab bragging rights among your fellow peers. It’s why you’ll hear trash talk between Justin Thomas and Tiger Woods, with Justin’s dad Mike and Tiger’s son Charlie in on the action too.

For most competing, the exhibition has become a highlight of the year. And for newcomers, like Steve Stricker competing for the first time this week with his daughter Izzi, the emotion of getting to play together was genuinely palpable.

“So we never thought, at least I didn’t, we’d have the opportunity to play here,” Stricker said, seeing that he hadn’t won a major or the Players, initial requirements for the pro to get in the field. But tournament organizer Alastair Johnston, made an exception in light of a few LIV golfers not competing. “So it’s actually a blessing and a surprise that we’re here.”

Come Sunday, though, the 20 pros in the field connected once more with the competitive sides. Bernhard Langer and son Jason made 13 birdies during their final-round 59 to charge past Day 1 leaders Matt and Cameron Kuchar and take the title with a 25-under 119 total, two strokes better than David and Brady Duval. This is the record fifth time Bernhard Langer has won the event, twice with older son Stefan and now three times with Jason.

There was some money on the line for winning the event. The overall prize money payout is $1.085 million with Bernhard Langer earning $200,000 for the victory.
