Payday in Greensboro
Here's the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2023 Wyndham Championship
Logan Whitton
For Lucas Glover, who shared the 18-under lead with fellow PGA Tour veteran Billy Horschel entering the final round of the Wyndham Championship, Sunday’s concern wasn’t about making money, but rather earning points. The $1.368 million first-place prize money payout given to the winner at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., would have been nice, although the 43-year-old already had made $29.1 million in his career. It was the 500 FedEx Cup points that were what was really needed.
Glover was on the outside of the top 70 bubble in the FedEx Cup standings (112th) with Wyndham the last chance to jump in and qualify for the Playoffs. A win would bump him from to 49th.
And a win was what he got. A closing two-under 68, finished a few hours later than planned thanks to a weather delay, propelled him to a two-shot win over Russell Henley, who bogeyed his last three holes to help make it a little easier for Glover to claim his fifth career tour win.
Indeed, there was lots on the line in North Carolina. But if you’re mostly curious about the cash, here’s the prize money payouts from the $7.6 million purse for every player who made the cut in Greensboro.
