Overview
When it won in 2008, Gozzer Ranch was the 13th Best New Course triumph for architect Tom Fazio. Gozzer won in part because of its gorgeous views of Lake Coeur d’Alene to the north and west, and the panoramic farm valley to the east. Little details elevate the architecture of Gozzer Ranch: a slight false-right-front edge on the first green, the backboard slope behind the sixth green, the fairway contouring on the dual-fairway drivable par-4 12th that kicks even a short drive to the base of the putting surface. Its shaggy-edged bunkers are more than mere set decorations. Some define targets off the tee; other pose options and challenges.

“This course presents a combination of beautiful surroundings, strategy, variety and challenge. Beautiful aesthetics are the first thing you notice once out on the course. Hilly conditions with Lake Couer D'Alene as a backdrop on many holes, as well as the bright colors throughout the course (green grass, blue water, golden fescue and black lava rock) offer a beautiful canvass on which to play your round. The course is not all beauty though in that it offers a great challenge. Well placed bunkers off the tee and around the greens will catch errant shots. The greens were fast, and you must be on the proper side of the hole to avoid three putting."

“One of Fazio’s best layouts, set in hilly terrain at an exclusive private club located 30 minutes south of Coeur d’ Alene. The course is in immaculate condition, with generous fairways and very challenging green complexes."

“Views 2nd only to Pebble Beach. Not your typical Tom Fazio design, the elevation changes, views of the lake, and views from clifftop make this course a definite Top 100 candidate."

“Incredibly scenic with many water views. The 11th and 15th greens have terrific views of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The Fazio course is one of his best...lots of variety and a good challenge from any set of tees. The comfort stations are the best I've seen. Most players arrive by private boat or water taxi which adds to the experience. Great service and a unique tree bar at the finish make it a really memorable place."

“A Fazio masterpiece. This course compliments the summer vibe around Coeur d'Alene. Such a great routing and superb conditioning. The vistas framing some of the holes are absolutely amazing. And, the infinity green on 11 plays with the mind in such a fun way. Oh, and the comfort stations are the best stocked that I have seen. Wouldn't be exaggerating to say that there are at least a hundred different items to choose from in term of food and drink. Home of the 10 pound round."
