Overview
Located in the little known but abundant golfing area south of San Jose, the gorgeous CordeValle was a private club when it first opened, but is a high-end resort destination these days, with climbing and descending soft hills dotted by gnarled oaks. It hosted both the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur and PGA Tour's Frys.com Open in 2013 and the U.S. Women's Open in 2016, won by Brittany Lang in a playoff against Anna Nordqvist.

“Great resort and setting. A very good, but not great RTJ Jr. course. Pretty good land and routing. The mounding alongside the holes to hide the cart paths looks horribly artificial and distracts from otherwise pretty quality golf."

“A nice routing through vineyards and the California hillside. Course is typically well maintained. The back 9 in particular provides for some nice elevation changes and different shots. Amenities are nice as well. Worth the price to play."

“High end resort that delivers a first class experience in a beautiful setting, but for a price."

“The course placed a greater emphasis on length than on accuracy. The fairways were so wide and the greens were big. On most holes, there was a lack of strategic value in taking one line vs. the other off the tee to the wide fairways. A good example is #6, a medium length par 5 that is best played with a pitching wedge second shot to a wide fairway, since going for it requires a very long carry over a small hazard; however, there's also a second fairway to the right on the approach that gets zero action because it is unnecessary and would require a significantly harder second shot for limited pay-off. Furthermore, there were multiple fairway bunkers on nearly every tee, but they didn't come into play on any tee for me (average length off tee) or my playing partner (25 yards longer off the tee). Helpful for aiming but not strategic. Great chocolate chip cookies at the turn."
