Overview
This Arnold Palmer-designed layout used to be in the rotation for the Bob Hope tour event. Water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes, and many holes have fairways that slope toward the water hazards, so driving the ball is at a premium. The facilities are top-notch at this Troon-managed club—including a 63,000-square foot, three-floor Tuscan-inspired clubhouse.

“The routing of this course moves holes in a variety of directions that requires a player to take particular note of the wind. The design took into account the fact that the wind blows regularly which is reflected in a layout that includes variability in hole lengths and direction. The par 5's are a particular strength. Seasonal winds will blow from left to right and right to left all of these holes. The layup areas are guarded by water or bunkers which requires accuracy in length and placement. Opportunities to go for each of these greens will reward a well-placed shot and make up and downs challenging. One of the strongest features of this course is the variability in size, shape and placement of the greens. Placing your ball in the right part of the fairway opens up many of the greens. The location of this course is on terrain that is largely flat. The contours of the course had to be created by moving dirt. Thus the weakness of this course is the aesthetics."

“Great Arnold Palmer design. Good conditions with fast and firm fairways and receptive greens. A nice variety of approach shots can be used and the fairways are pretty generous. Number 18 is a great finishing hole with a fantastic risk/reward option."

“A challenging course with very good variety in a flat desert setting. It can be windy which makes it much more difficult. It can be very enjoyable from the right tees for your game."

“Very well maintained desert course and not surrounded by houses. Enjoyable and distinctive holes throughout including long and short holes moving left and right. Water comes into play on 10 holes creating risk reward / challenges off the tee and or into greens."

“A surprisingly good Arnold Palmer design north of I-10 outside of Palm Springs. It is a new take on desert golf with numerous water hazards, pine trees and well protected greens in a desert setting. Excellent 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains with no housing. A former site for the Bob Hope Classic but has a well earned reputation for being very windy. The course demands a premium on accuracy along with length is played from the proper tees. it is a good value with and excellent restaurant for your post round enjoyment."

“It can be windy north of I-10, but on all calm day this is one of the top public access experiences in the desert."
