After a concussion-riddled 2022 season that called his entire career into question, Tua Tagovailoa is firmly in the MVP race. His odds currently hover around +1000, good enough for third favorite at most sportsbooks. And with two pivotal games against the Ravens and Bills remaining, he has ample opportunity to make his case iron clad. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but after the latest episode of ‘Hard Knocks’ on Tuesday, the Dolphins’ no. 1 is now no. 1 in our hearts. First of all, you have to love the Christmas onesie and childlike enthusiasm. Tua is genuinely stoked to give not get, and last time we checked, that’s the whole point of this holiday thing. But Tua didn’t give his backups and coaches a donation in their name to the Human Fund. He gave them golf simulators. We don’t have to tell you why that fills us with the spirit of the season.
There was one Dolphins QB in the room who didn’t get a simulator, however: “Uncle” Dan Marino. How could Tua forget a legend like Marino? Will this faux pas derail the Dolphins electrifying season? Think again. The only reason Tua didn’t get Dan the Man a simulator of his very own is because Marino already has one. We guess that title of “Dolphins' Most Valuable Golfer” won’t come so easy after all …
