Ak-Chin Southern Dunes G.C.
Overview
An annual U.S. Open qualifying site and host to several top collegiate tournaments, Ak-Chin Southern Dunes is a long and challenging sand-belt style course. The Brian Curley and Fred Couples design sits on a piece of land that was home to the Ak-Chin Indian Community until a 1912 Executive Order removed the reservation. In 2010, the community recovered its sacred base and opened the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club for all to enjoy.

“More of a parkland style course, arguably the best public access course in the valley. Rolling terrain with trees, hazards, and plenty of strategic doglegs. The course rewards the golfer that can work their ball both ways. Maybe not as visually appealing as many of the pure desert tracks, but there isn't a house on property and the conditions are usually very good."

“Very strong and strategic layout with an abundance of trees which is unusual for this area of Arizona. Lots of interesting holes and plenty of rewards for cutting off doglegs. Greens were fantastic. The clubhouse as a cool/casual vibe. Great place to spend some time after the round before driving back to the Phoenix metro area."

“One of my favorite courses in the Phoenix area. A challenging layout and always in great condition. The clubhouse is understated, but very attractive. A bit of a drive to get to Maricopa, but well worth it."

“A well layed out golf course and in very good condition. Good size greens and generous landing areas in the fairways. The traps which are plentiful are well placed and can come in to play quite often. Good range and putting green."
